“Love” according to the Word of God.

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;  7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought  as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

About “Hurricane Earl” and Prayers for People.

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – Hurricane Earl, now a powerful Category 4 storm, barreled toward the U.S. coast early Tuesday after battering tiny islands across the northeastern Caribbean with heavy rain and winds that damaged homes and toppled power lines.
Earl is forecast to potentially brush the U.S. East Coast late Thursday, before curving back out to sea, possibly swiping New England or far-eastern Canada. The U.S. National Hurricane Center warned coastal residents from North Carolina to Maine to watch the storm closely.
“Any small shift in the track could dramatically alter whether it makes landfall or whether it remains over the open ocean,” said Wallace Hogsett, a meteorologist at the center. “I can’t urge enough to just stay tuned.”

In the Caribbean, Earl caused flooding in low-lying areas and damaged homes on islands including Antigua and Barbuda, Anguilla and St. Maarten. Several countries and territories reported power outages. Cruise ships were diverted and flights canceled across the region.
The storm’s center passed just north of the British Virgin Islands on Monday afternoon. By nighttime, the hurricane was pulling away from the Caribbean, but heavy downpours still threatened to cause flash floods and mudslides in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands by drenching already saturated ground.A direct hit could not be ruled out, and Earl was expected to bring drenching rain, dangerous seas and surf and gusting wind to the Atlantic Coast from North Carolina to New England and Canada, said Alex Sosnowski, a senior meteorologist for private forecaster AccuWeather.
The rapid development of Earl, which only became a hurricane Sunday, took some islanders and tourists by surprise. Wind was already rattling the walls of Lila Elly Ali’s wooden house on Anegada, the northernmost of the British Virgin Islands, when she and her son went out to nail the doors shut Monday.
“They say the eye of the storm is supposed to come close to us, so we’ve just got to pray. Everyone here is keeping in touch, listening to the radio,” the 58-year-old said by phone from the island of 280 people.

They are saying: “‘Almost Christian’ teens trouble church scholars”

God loves you and wants you to be happy.

Be nice to other people and pray if you get into trouble.
That’s what most teenagers are learning in church these days, says Kenda Creasy Dean, professor of youth, church and culture at Princeton Theological Seminary. Instead of learning the Bible, young people are drawn to a cult of niceness, Dean said. Being nice is OK, but it doesn’t have much to do with Jesus, she said.
“The problem is that it’s an incredibly selfish way to look at faith,” Dean said. “It means that God is out there to make us happy.”
A major study of religion in youth found that many young people are “almost Christian” — they believe in God, but they don’t believe Christian doctrines. That has caused several local youth ministries to move from fun and games at youth groups to more intense Bible studies. They also want kids involved in more outreach and in volunteer work. Leaders believe this approach will make faith stick so young people will retain their faith when they go to college or into the work world.

“Please pray for Pakistan and the people affected by the massive flood.”

From our Missionary to Pakistan: Please pray for Pakistan and the people affected by the massive flood.

We are sending out an urgent appeal for prayer support because of the flood. Our local newspaper this morning had a headline that said the UN has declared the floods in Pakistan to be the biggest emergency on planet earth. Very depressing. But if you flip that around, it means this is the biggest opportunity for God to be revealed in all His great glory and power. Very exciting!!
  • Pray for open doors as we minister relief to those devastated by the floods.
  • Pray that hearts and minds will be changed by God’s power and the anointing that is on His people as we distribute help to some whose lives have experienced total loss.
  • Pray that diseases such as cholera and typhoid will be miraculously stopped in their tracks.
  • Pray that the influence of the forces who oppose Jesus will be hindered.
  • And pray that this flood will be a physical picture of what is happening in the spiritual realm – a mighty deluge of the Holy Ghost that flows from the highest mountain peaks in northern Pakistan to the lowest valleys of the Punjab, to the deserts of Sindh, the isolated areas of Baluchistan, washing away darkness and bringing glorious light to this nation.
Blessings to you, and thank you for taking on the burden of Pakistan. The end of the story has not been written yet!

“Top attorney backs ‘I Believe’ license plates”

South Carolina drivers might be able to buy a license plate with the words “I Believe” and three crosses, despite a federal judge’s ruling against a previous attempt to make similar tags.

Nine months after a federal judge barred the state from making legislatively approved plates with the religious message, Attorney General Henry McMaster says a similar plate designed by a nonprofit group is legal. The plate under review at the Department of Motor Vehicles reads www.ibelievesc.net along the top. It features a golden sunrise and on the left there are three crosses symbolizing the site where Jesus was crucified.

The nonprofit group applied for the plates in February under state law that allows private groups to create specialty plates. It officially changed its name to the website address, in hopes of meeting new DMV rules that require tags bear the sponsoring group’s name.
